Am Rande von Ost-Berlin wartet die attraktive Ulla vergeblich auf die S-Bahn. Es gießt in Strömen und sie hat keinen Schirm. Da hält plötzlich ein Mercedes mit Schweizer Diplomatenkennzeichen. Am Steuer sitzt Thomas, Chefkoch in der eidgenössischen Botschaft. Er bietet ihr eine Mitfahrgelegenheit an. Die beiden sind sich auf Anhieb sympathisch und verlieben sich ineinander.
