Lara kümmert sich um ihre einjährige Tochter, ihr Freund Jacob schuftet derweil als Koch. Eine Dunstglocke der Frustration hängt über dem Paar. Eines Tages lässt Lara das Baby wortlos bei Jacob zurück und flüchtet in ihre Heimat Südtirol, wo ihre entfremdete Schwester Ida den Bauernhof der verstorbenen Eltern instand hält. Doch Laras unverhofftes Auftauchen reißt alte Wunden auf.
