Don Jaime Astarloa (OMERO ANTONUTTI), the best fencing Master in Madrid, is a gentleman of the old school, and his somewhat frigid life is ruled by dignity and honour. Age has made him a sceptic; he is saddened by the young generations lack of interest in the art of fencing. Among his few pupils is Luis de Ayala (JOAQUIM DE ALMEIDA), Marquis of the Alumbres, a lively aristocrat and great woman chaser who is also his friend.
