On July 10, 1982, Kalinka Bamberski, fourteen years old, was found dead in her stepfather’s house in Germany. Despite the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, the case was swiftly closed without conviction. However, the battle was far from over for her devastated father, André Bamberski, rivetingly embodied by Cannes, César and BAFTA award-winner Daniel Auteuil. Over the subsequent three decades, André would make it his sole mission to apprehend and imprison the man that he believed killed his daughter, no matter what the cost. Constant injustices hurled in the path of his exhaustive campaign intensify André’s frustration, but ultimately serve to reinforce his determination to obtain the truth.
