In 1909, ex-judge Christopher Zamarripa owns and runs the National Valley tobacco plantation with an iron fist. He exploits his workers with the support of local tyrant, Porfirio Diaz. Anyone who opposes them is tortured and killed. But wherever there is oppression, revolution is bound to follow.
