Callaghan's first day on the job turns to disaster when his young patient suddenly dies in the air; town leader George Baxter is determined to run him out of town, believing him to be incompetent. In the meantime sophisticated Liz Drever reluctantly accompanies her Mother Beth from New York to the family sheep station in the outback, and hates every minute of her outback experience.
