De jonge muzikant Max droomt ervan om door te breken met zijn indie rockband. Op hetzelfde moment koestert hij een diepe vijandigheid tegenover zijn idealistische en ambitieuze klasgenote Inge, een eco-activiste die hem met haar uitspraken altijd weer de kast opjaagt. Altijd weer komt het tussen de twee tot onenigheid en als Max daarop reageert met het zelfgeschreven lied 'Als Inge danst', is de maat vol.
