Astrid is eind veertig en heeft haar leven onder controle. Ze is verliefd geworden op Paul en op hun eerste stedentrip gaanze naar Boedapest voor een paar romantische dagen. Maar in de Hongaarse hoofdstad loopt het anders dan gepland. Ze komen Julius tegen, Astrid's eerste grote liefde, die ze ooit ontmoet heeft op een kunstenaarsfeest in Oost-Duitsland in 1986.
