Sarah is een begaafde, jonge midden-afstandsloper. Haar leven verandert als ze wordt toegelaten tot Quebec's beste atletiekprogramma van de universiteit van Montreal, ver van haar woonplaats. Sarah krijgt geen financiële steun van haar moeder voor de verhuizing, of enige ander steun. Haar moeder is van mening dat verhuizen slecht is voor Sarah's gezondheid en haar leven. Maar Sarah is koppig en verhuist toch samen met haar vriend Antoine naar Montreal.
