Étienne, Daniel, Simon en Bouly zijn vier vrolijke veertigers, die uitstekend met elkaar kunnen opschieten. Alleen Etienne heeft nog geen problemen gehad met zijn vrouw, maar dat verandert wanneer de knappe Charlotte zijn weg kruist. Hij raakt hopeloos verliefd op de knappe vrouw die hij toevallig ontmoet heeft en hij maakt zich in het vuur van zijn veroveringsstrijd totaal belachelijk.
