Vor sieben Jahren wurde Maries Vater, der auch bei der Kölner Polizei als Hauptkommissar ermittelte, im Dienst von Markus Rombach erschossen. Markus Rombach war nicht nur der Arbeitskollege von Maries Vater, sondern auch Freund der gesamten Familie.
