Fatima woont alleen met haar twee dochters, Souad, 15, een rebelse tiener en Nesrine, 18, die begint met haar studies geneeskunde. Fatima is de Franse taal niet machtig en ziet dit als een frustratie in haar dagelijks contact met haar dochters.
