De vermaarde modefotograaf Stéphane leeft in afzondering in een Parijse banlieue in een groot, vervallen huis samen met zijn verleidelijke dochter en muze Marie. Na de onverwachte dood van Stéphanes vrouw, speelt Marie elke dag fotomodel voor zijn levensechte daguerreotypes, die voor hem een ware obsessie vormen.
