Belle Époque
Spanje, 1931. Fernando is een zorgeloze, pacifistische deserteur. Hij zwerft over het platteland totdat hij uitgenodigd wordt in huis door de rijke Don Manolo. Deze interesseert zich niet voor Fernando's deserteur-status, maar kan het goed met hem vinden omdat ze dezelfde politieke instelling hebben. Als ook nog blijkt dat Don Manolo's vier voluptueuze dochters voor hem vallen, bevindt Fernando zich in een hemelse positie.
