Halvar est le chef d'une tribu de vikings et son jeune fils Vic est destiné à prendre sa succession. Cependant, ce jour arrive plus tôt que prévu lorsque Sven le Terrible enlève Halvar obligeant Vic à prendre la tête des vikings et tous prennent le large pour partir à la recherche d'Halvar.
