Ce portrait d’une mère qui se bat pour son fils accusé de meurtre manifeste une grande qualité artistique. Dès le premier plan, c’est le lyrisme d’un Sergio Leone qui semble être convoqué. Du moins l’influence du cinéma soviétique dans ce qu’il avait de plus éloquent.
