Un couple, parents adoptifs d'un petit enfant africain, habite en Normandie près de la mer, non loin du lieu stratégique permettant aux clandestins de se rendre en Angleterre. Débarque alors dans leur vie un migrant poursuivi par la police. Cet homme, qu'ils vont accepter de recueillir, devient dans l'imaginaire de leur enfant un potentiel père biologique...
