Da Julius Cæsars styrker rykker ind i Britannien, sender Fixfax bud efter sine bekendte fra en lille landsby i Gallien. Sammen med Obelix, høvdingens teenagenevø Provoix samt en tønde trylledrik sejler Asterix over Kanalen for at give sine britiske naboer en hånd med i modstandskampen mod romerne. Der bliver dog også tid til lidt romantik imellem øretæverne.
