I Foråret 2002 slog seks af Danmarks bedte stand-up komikere pjalterne sammen under navnet Den Ægte Vare. Målet var at vise publikum seks forskellige stilarter i stand-uppens oprindelige form - totalt renset for "Lånte" vittigheder og klappevenlige sangnumre. Gennem 24 shows leverede Varen varen på udsolgte teatre over hele landet. Turnéen sluttede med 3 aftner i cirkusbygningen, og denne optagelse er det første af disse shows.
