Margaret feiert ihren 40. Geburtstag, zu dem ihr Notar ihr Briefe mitbringt, die sie als 7-jähriges Kind verfasst hat. In diesem Schreiben erinnert sie sich selbst daran, worauf es im Leben ankommt. Obwohl sie erfolgreiche Managerin ist, kommt sie ins Grübeln, ob ihr Leben so verlaufen ist, wie sie es sich erhofft hat, oder ob sich etwas ändern sollte. Als Kind hat sie genau dafür schon vorgesorgt und so kann sich Margaret nun mit ihren damaligen Wünschen und Überlegungen auseinander setzen.
