The Substance: Albert Hofmann's LSD
Der Schweizer Wissenschaftler Albert Hofmann entdeckt im Frühjahr 1943, mitten im Krieg, in seinem Basler Forschungslabor per Zufall eine bisher unbekannte Substanz. Nach einem gewagten Selbstversuch begreift er schnell, dass er es mit einem extrem potenten Wirkstoff zu tun hat - einer rätselhaften Substanz die unsere Wahrnehmung verändert: LSD. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt weiss er noch nicht, dass sein Sorgenkind, wie er die Substanz später nennt, die Welt verändern wird. 'The Substance' erzählt die LSD-Story von ihren Anfängen bis heute.
