A nine-year-old boy named Charlie McCarthy is sent by his teacher to an eye doctor. The lad has been complaining about headaches and has missed a lot of school. The doctor, with the help of a nurse, conducts an examination. They learn that when the boy isn't at school, he does a lot of fishing.
