Die kleine Laura findet nach dem Umzug in eine fremde Stadt nur schwer Anschluss und fühlt sich allein. Als ein Stern vom Himmel fällt, kümmert sie sich rührend um ihren neuen Freund. Auf der Erde droht jedoch der Stern zu erlöschen. Mit Hilfe des Nachbarjungen Max soll der Stern wieder zum Himmel zurück.
