Una noche, cuando vuelven a su casa, los señores Prioux descubren con asombro que un tal Patrick se les ha metido en casa a vivir. Por lo visto, el joven está convencido que ha vuelto a casa de sus padres para presentarles a su mujer. Los Prioux, que no tienen hijos, no dan crédito a sus ojos.
