Nach zwölf Jahren wird die bekannte Schauspielerin Carla Sagmeister aus dem Gefängnis entlassen. Sie war - allen Unschuldsbeteuerungen zum Trotz - in einem Indizienprozess wegen Totschlags an ihrem Geliebten Erik Vonhoff verurteilt worden. Jetzt hat sie nur ein Ziel: Ihre Unschuld zu beweisen. Ausschlaggebend im damaligen Prozess war das Gutachten des namhaften Forensikers Dr. Borchert.
