Béatrice is sinds kort een weduwe en woont samen met haar zoon en haar moeder. Ze ontmoet Mokhtar, een Iranese leraar die illegaal in Europa verblijft, en die haar leven en overtuigingen in vraag zal doen stellen. Door haar liefde voor hem moet ze opboksen tegen de wetgeving en de vooroordelen van haar naasten.
