Maik, un muchacho de 14 años marginado por su clase, crece en el seno de una familia rica y disfuncional en Berlín. Durante las vacaciones veraniegas, su alcohólica madre ingresa en rehabilitación mientras su padre se ausenta con su joven ayudante por un presunto viaje de negocios.
