Paul spia da lontano Dorothy,una ragazza di 16 anni, che vive in un quartiere benestante di Brussels. Ora Dorothy vuole trovare il suo vero padre biologico ed ha sentito che Paul è un bravo detective. Così inizia un percorso di avvicinamento tra i due che instaurano un rapporto conflittuale ma complice, che li porterà ad una nuova scoperta di se stessi.
