Diana e Andrew Chelsom sono stati sposati e ora vivono separati da molto tempo. Anne Chelsom, loro figlia, viene ora in Cornovaglia per trascorrere alcuni giorni con sua madre.Per caso Diana incontra Andrew al mercato della frutta e Andrew le presenta la sua nuova fidanzata Shirley (che è piuttosto più giovane come la figlia Anne). Altra sorpresa: Andrew ha comprato una villa, la Wilson House come regalo per Shirley il giorno del matrimonio. Anne incontrerà anche una sorpresa proveniente dal passato, il dottor Justin Giggs.
