Conrad, un uomo ricco e malvagio, ha deciso di fare un film usando come protagonista il piccolo Ugo, un animale molto raro. Ignaro di tutto Ugo vive felice nella foresta con i suoi amici. Ma un giorno Conrad fa bruciare l'intera foresta, cattura Ugo e lo rinchiude nei suoi studi cinematografici. Sarà la sua amica Rita, una volpe che vive in città, ad aiutarlo a fuggire.
