Questa serie si distacca dalla continuity Micron Legend e Superlink per lanciare gli Autobot (Cybertron in giapponese) in una corsa contro il tempo e i Decepticon (Destron in giapponese); obiettivo 4 chiavi, le Cyber Planet Key, capaci di attivare poteri nascosti (come i Minicon in Armada), ma soprattutto di attivare un meccanismo detto Omega Lock che risveglierà Primus dal suo sonno; il padre dei robot mutaforma è l'unico essere col potere di chiudere un buco nero che sta risucchiando tutti i corpi celesti del creato. Le chiavi furono nascoste dai primi Transformer su 4 diversi pianeti: la Terra, Jungle Planet (Animatron), Speed Planet (Velocitron) e Giant Planet (Gigantion).
