1965 : Franco est au pouvoir en Espagne. Diego, un militant clandestin républicain, revient à Paris où vit sa femme. En désaccord avec ses propres camarades, il l'est aussi avec une étudiante avec laquelle il a une brève aventure. Les deux femmes, cependant, vont joindre leurs efforts pour le sauver de la police franquiste.
