One night when Laura can't fall asleep she looks out of her window and watches a star crashing down on the sidewalk right in front of her house. Laura retrieves the little star and takes it to her room. But the next morning the star has disappeared. How Laura recovers the little star, what other adventures she experiences with it and how she learns to let go of certain things she has grown fond of - that is the subject of the insightful stories of Laura and her star.
