Lothar Schramm es un taxista berlinés que vive enamorado de su vecina, una prostituta sadomasoquista, y vive atormentado contemplando la llegada de clientes al domicilio. Él es un vecino ejemplar, que hasta le prepara el café, le sirve de chofer y hasta cenan juntos... pero cuando está a solas da rienda suelta a sus perversiones esquizofrénicas y paranoicas.
