Eigentlich wollte der erfolgreiche Londoner Unternehmer Andrew Blake nur Urlaub in Frankreich machen, in der "Domaine de Beauvillier", wo er einst seine Frau Diana kennenlernte und glückliche Tage verbrachte. Doch statt als Gast findet er sich irrtümlich von der Hausherrin Madame Nathalie Beauvillier als Butler auf Probe eingestellt.
