In einem Tal Nordspaniens, unweit der Stadt Elizondo, wird die Leiche einer Jugendlichen entdeckt. Alles deutet auf einen Ritualmord hin: Das Opfer wurde vom Täter gereinigt und wie eine Heilige inszeniert. Dazu lag ein baskisches Gebäck, Txantxigorri, auf ihrem Körper. Die leitende Kommissarin Amaia Salazar und ihr Partner Jonan Etxaid gehen von einem Serienkiller aus, da vor Wochen ein ganz ähnlicher Mord nach dem gleichen Muster stattfand.
