Springreiterin Gracieuse arbeitet als Zureiterin in einem Pferdestall. Als ihr Lieblingspferd verkauft wird, verliert sie die Beherrschung, was zur Folge hat, dass sie sich nach einer neuen Anstellung umsehen muss. Die findet sie im Gestüt von Joséphine, wo man sich jedoch auf Dressurreiten spezialisiert hat. Folglich bleiben für Gracieuse nur Stallarbeiten - bis sie den ebenfalls für Joséphine arbeitenden ehemaligen Dressurweltmeister Franz Mann von ihren Fähigkeiten als Reiterin überzeugen kann.
