Virginie Dandieus Ehemann, der Zahnarzt Hervé, bringt nach einem Ehekrach die Tanzlehrerin Anita Florès nach Hause; er küsst sie und fährt dann doch reumütig nach Hause. Florès hat jedoch heimlich Fotos schießen lassen, um Hervé zu erpressen. Virginie kommt dahinter und folgt Hervè zu einem Treffen in die Tanzschule. Hervé will Anita zur Rede stellen, findet sie aber tot und ist auf einmal der Hauptverdächtige. Virginie lässt sich als neue Tanzlehrerin anstellen und beginnt auf eigene Faust zu ermitteln...
