Cuando su imponente novia le abandona por un vecino, mucho más viril que él, Alex, un joven algo blandengue, emprende un proceso de autoeducación para convertirse en un hombre completo y encontrar el amor verdadero: por una parte, su amiga Nele le da consejos sobre las relaciones sentimentales, y, por otra, su amigo Okke, un auténtico machote, le da lecciones sobre cómo llegar a ser todo un hombre.
