Der Komponist Fred Apel wird ermordet. Elisa, eine junge Sängerin, die ihm liebte, befürchtet nun, dass seine letzte Komposition unvollendet bleibt. Zum Glück taucht jedoch der junge ausländische Instrumentator Michael auf und kann, nachdem er zunächst unter Mordverdacht gerät, die Komposition zu Ende führen.
