Tristana
Toledo, 1929: Die 18-jährige Waise Tristana wird von ihrem Vormund Don Lope aufgenommen. Don Lope ist gut 40 Jahre älter als das Mädchen, ein Aristokrat und Freigeist, der sich zeit seines Lebens geweigert hat, zu arbeiten und nun von einer spärlichen Rente lebt. Er nimmt die Erziehung Tristanas in die Hand, zunächst als eine Vaterfigur, dann als ihr Liebhaber. Zwei Jahre später aber ist Tristana seiner Liebe überdrüssig, findet ihr Verhältnis zu dem alten Mann nur noch lächerlich.
