Der Berliner Bauunternehmer Karl Brendt will auf dem Weg zur Arbeit noch schnell seine Kinder zur Schule bringen, erhält jedoch kurz nachdem er losfährt einen Anruf eines Unbekannten, der das Auto mit einer Bombe präpariert hat und es in die Luft sprengen möchte, falls Karl oder die Kinder versuchen auszusteigen. Karl muss eine große Menge Geld beschaffen.
