Geliebte Clara
Da ihr Mann, der manisch-depressive, berühmte Komponist Robert Schumann als Ernährer größtenteils ausfällt, übernimmt seine Frau Clara die Verantwortung für die Familie mit sechs Kindern und schafft es sogar noch, auch selbst als Pianistin international Konzerte zu geben. Da tritt der stürmische junge Musiker Johhannes Brahms in ihr Leben. Während Robert ihn als Mentor fördert, verliebt sich Johannes in Clara.
