Allein im Weltraum: Die junge Helena lebt isoliert auf einem interplanetaren Kolonialschiff. Nachdem ihre Eltern das Raumschiff aufgrund von technischen Problemen vor drei Jahren verlassen haben, hatte Helena keinen menschlichen Kontakt mehr. Als eine Raumstation auf ihrem Weg das Notsignal empfängt, naht Rettung in Gestalt des jungen Technikers Alex. Zwei Tage bleiben der jungen Frau nun, ihr Defizit an menschlicher Interaktion auszugleichen, bevor sie wieder alleine ist. Doch der Abschied von Alex ist noch längst nicht das Ende.
