The police bring Wayne and Freya in for questioning over Billy’s disappearance. Christine helps Freya evade the police so she can find Billy. Freya realises Henrik has been sleeping in Billy’s treehouse. Freya follows clues that lead her to a private island. She’s horrified to find Adrienne and her devoted disciples have a new school filled with innocent children and deluded followers. Mummy tells Amy she will have to clear Asha of her sins to make her one of them. Adrienne forces Freya to relive her mind altering clearing - where she discovers a devastating truth. Joe follows the trail of money but will the police get to the island in time to stop the relaunch of The Kindred?

Adrienne threatens to have her sent back to Greenhaven, the mental hospital she went to after losing custody of Max. Adrienne miraculously avoids prison time by being declared unfit to stand trial. Joe, distraught by the miscarriage of justice, decides to take matters in his own hands and bring down Adrienne himself. Adding to his misery, he learns that Freya knew about Adrienne’s fake dementia and didn’t tell him. Attending a wedding of one of her sister’s from Blackmarsh, Freya tries to discern if The Kindred is on the verge of reforming. Freya’s worst nightmare comes true when Billy goes missing. Did Adrienne take Billy?

Amy, pregnant with Max, watches Adrienne on the news, extradited from France to stand trial for her crimes. Joe can finally put her behind bars for the atrocities done at Blackmarsh but recognises someone who worked with the cult, as one of the jurors. Freya tells Adrienne she thinks Anton kidnapped Carrie Anderson and she breaks into Carrie’s hospital room to prove it. Henrik is released after 22 years in prison and Joe keeps close watch on him, wanting to know the truth about Asha. Later, Freya sees Adrienne give a talk at the welcome lodge - has The Kindred been reborn?

With the net closing in on The Kindred, Amy escapes Blackmarsh and ends up at the hospital. Joe, the lead detective, asks Amy about Asha and some unsettling entries in her diary. Now that the case against The Kindred is heating up, police surround the compound but Adrienne and Dr. Latham are nowhere to be found. Who is tipping them off? While Freya drives Billy home from school she notices they are being followed. Wayne wants to know if Freya has heard from Max their teenage daughter - he’s afraid she’s runaway.

After an accident at home, Freya is under scrutiny at Billy’s school due to his black eye. The children perform at The Lodge for potential donors. Asha makes a scene when she tries to tell the truth about Mummy. After Amy is blamed for not keeping Asha in line, Mummy convinces Amy she will be back in her good graces if she completes her clearing – an unsupervised rite of passage where the child is given a hallucinatory drug to clear away their sins. Billy’s father shows up and Freya is convinced he’s here to take Billy away from her. Later, we see Adrienne make a phone call to a stranger who is watching kids near a playground. When Asha escapes, Freya sees the young girl running in the woods by her house. Will Freya be able to save Asha from the clutches of The Kindred?
