The whole family converges on the hospital, one visit after another. Marion tries to find the best way to support her daughter. Anne eases her loneliness by befriending her editor. Vincent makes himself useful with Alice's help. Pascal rushes back from his retreat. Marion decides that Rose will stay with her parents and sister only. Everyone leaves, even Claire, who finds it heartbreaking to say goodbye to her niece.

6. The Blessed Child

Christmas is coming, and Rose has been in the hospital for many months. When the doctors grant her a 24-hour discharge to spend Christmas with her family, Claire realizes this is bad news: Rose doesn't have long to live. She throws this information at poor Vincent, who is overcome with anxiety, but Alice helps him address his fears. Claire also has to deal with her partner's ex, who refuses to let Lou get a flu shot, even though it's mandatory to be able to spend Christmas with Rose.
