11. The Phoenix

The building’s dynamics go on without Eliseo. Zambrano feels victorious, while Eliseo is working at a produce shop around the corner. One morning, there’s an explosion in the building’s basement and the neighbors infer that the boiler has blown up. Camila goes looking for Eliseo at the produce shop and he arrives running while Paola goes looking for Thiago. But the boy is inside the building. Before the firefighters arrive, Eliseo enters the burning building and a few minutes later he comes out carrying Thiago in his arms. He is greeted by everyone as a hero and the owners decide to hire him back. As a result, Zambrano steps down from the presidency and his position is taken by Beba. However, Eliseo sets a series of strict demands to come back but they are all accepted. In private, he tells Beba the truth: he sabotaged the boiler in cahoots with Thiago and Camila so that it would look like he saved the boy, and everyone would take him as a hero. Beba stares at him gob-smacked, and Eliseo says it’s a joke. But it’s not. Finally, Eliseo commends Camila and Thiago for executing their part so well, although he warns them that what they did was wrong. Eliseo resumes his job happy and renewed.
10. The Moment of Truth

It’s the day of the vote and Eliseo surveils everything through a baby monitor from his bunker. He’s got it under control, he is certain he is going to win by one vote. The voting unfolds according to his expectations and when it comes to the last vote, Eugenia’s, the count is at 8 to 8. Eliseo takes for granted that she is going to support him for having “found” her cat. However, Eugenia votes in favor of the project and Eliseo explodes in anger. Later, his friend Beba tells him that Eugenia voted for the pool because she is planning on selling the apartment and the pool increases the property’s value. Eliseo is devastated. The next day, Paola and Thiago go to check up on him, but Eliseo greets them rudely and they leave. More calmed, Eliseo goes to say sorry to Paola for his reaction and tells her that he would like to have a different sort of relationship with her. The woman is shocked, and so Eliseo tells her it was a joke and leaves defeated. Finally, Eliseo explains to the new cleaning employees what the building maintenance is like and how to operate the boiler to avoid an accident. Eliseo clears his stuff out and puts them in a truck and leaves the building.
9. The Squatter in 5B

Eliseo needs to get at least three more votes to put a halt to the pool project. First, he aims at getting the vote of Tatiana, an elderly woman that is the building’s artist. After being repeatedly asked, Eliseo allows her to do a portrait of him, although she has something else in mind. Eliseo tries to refuse, saying that he’s worried about the vote, but Tatiana tells him not to worry and promises him her vote. He has no other choice but to submit to the neighbor’s affection. His next target is Eugenia, the psychologist in 1B. To get her support, Eliseo kidnaps her cat, Kiwi, and then offers to search for him. One night, Eliseo shows up at the preoccupied Eugenia’s door holding Kiwi in his arms. Making up that he found him outside when he went looking for him, thus, earning the gratitude and support of the psychologist. The last vote he needs is that of Basavilbaso, a rancher that lives in the country and hardly ever uses the apartment. To win that vote, Eliseo resorts to the help of El Polaco, a homeless man from the neighborhood. Eliseo sneaks El Polaco inside the apartment with his dog Le Pera and then calls the rancher complaining about the disturbing noises of the supposed tenant. Convinced that a squatter has taken over his apartment, Basavilbaso heads into the apartment and finds El Polaco there. Eliseo tells him there’s nothing to do and to come back in the morning with a lawyer and Basavilbaso agrees. Meanwhile, Eliseo pays El Polaco and tells him his job is over, but El Polaco is all too comfortable at the apartment and has no intention of leaving. The next morning, El Polaco wakes up and finds out that his dog is gone. El Polaco confronts Eliseo, who responds by saying that if he leaves the dog will appear. Basavilbaso returns with his lawyer and finds an empty apartment. Eliseo tells him how he used his tricks to kick the intruder out. Grateful, the rancher promises him his vote to support him.
8. Sabotage in the Engine Room

An elevator technician visits the building and informs Eliseo that the units are old. Eliseo then comes up with the idea of sabotaging the elevator to stop the pool project, but his plan goes out of control when he accidentally blows up the engine and blacks out the entire building. Zambrano begins an inquiry to find out what happened and when he starts suspecting Eliseo, he has no choice but to throw his assistant, Miguel, under the bus. Zambrano buys this version and Eliseo informs Miguel that he needs to leave, but suddenly Zambrano and Messina tell Eliseo that they have found who's truly responsible. Everything seems to indicate that Eliseo has been exposed, but no, they think that the elevator technician breaks them on purpose to charge for the repair. Eliseo races to fetch Miguel and bring him back.
7. Therapeutic Companion

Nacho, the son of Susana, the tenant in apartment 2B, comes to spend some time with her after his wife left him for his best friend. Since Nacho is depressed, Eliseo offers Susana help to cheer him up, saying he has a lot of experience as a volunteer at an NGO. He invites Nacho to go fishing and, using his methods, he manages to improve his self-esteem a little bit. At the same time, he also decides to help Thiago, a kid from the building he is fond of and whose sitter is Paola, who Eliseo has a crush on. Thiago is in love with Camila, a girl from the building, and Eliseo gets Cony Musel, a singer Camila loves, to come to the building thinking Thiago is a kid with a terminal illness. In the meantime, his plan with Nacho is coming along. The young man is feeling better and tells Eliseo he’s even asked a girl out. Eliseo is happy for him, but when he finds out that the girl in question is Paola, he cannot let it slide and lies to the babysitter saying that Nacho is violent and has a twisted relationship with his mom. Susana tells Eliseo that Nacho is back to being depressed and has left her place, but still, she thanks him for his effort and promises to vote against the project. On the other hand, Thiago’s plan is working out and Eliseo gets the tickets for Cony Musel’s show, to which all four attend — Thiago, Camila, Paola, and Eliseo.
6. Night Driver

Chiara, the daughter of Renato Di Lella, the intimidating labor unionist from the ninth floor, is dancing on the rooftop with friends. Eliseo kicks them out and, in revenge, Chiara kisses him while one of her friends takes a picture. Chiara threatens to show the photo to her father if Eliseo doesn’t agree to be their driver for the night, so Eliseo has no choice but to accept and drive the girls and Ramiro, Chiara’s boyfriend, to a bar and then to a party. Meanwhile, Eliseo notices Chiara kiss her friend Lala behind Ramiro’s back. When they arrive at the party, Chiara erases the picture and Eliseo manages to get invited in. There, Eliseo finds a way to give Ramiro a series of shots until he falls asleep, and Chiara takes the opportunity to make out with her friend without noticing that Eliseo is taking pictures of her. When the party is over, Eliseo shows Chiara the pictures and tells her not to mess with him and to convince her father to vote against the pool project. Chiara agrees, but when Eliseo is feeling victorious, he receives a message from the girl with the same picture of them kissing.
5. Surprise Visit

Beba receives a visit from her nephew Jordi, the son of her cousin Hilda, whom she’s never seen before. Jordi and Beba tell Eliseo that from now on he will handle all Beba’s affairs, which had been Eliseo’s job. Eliseo is quickly suspicious of Jordi. First, he discovers that his Spanish accent is fake, and in fact, he has an Argentinean accent. Upon further investigation, he discovers that he is not really Hilda’s son, but an Argentinean nurse named Ariel who used to take care of her. Eliseo unmasks him without telling Beba and Jordi flees without even saying goodbye. Eliseo writes a letter to Beba posing as Jordi to mitigate her angst.
4. A Lover for Zambrano

Convinced that to put a halt to the pool project he needs to go after Zambrano, Eliseo breaks into his apartment looking for something to incriminate him, but when the family returns unexpectedly, he has no choice but to escape. As a plan B, he decides to disguise his trace as a lover of Zambrano, leaving behind a letter that will put him in a predicament. But his handwriting is too masculine, so he asks Alejandra, a delivery girl annoyed at Zambrano because of his stingy tips, to help him out. The girl accepts and finds a way to get the letter to Zambrano’s wife, only for Eliseo to find the letter crushed in the trash bin the next day and the couple stronger than ever. Stubborn, this time Eliseo asks Alejandra to call Zambrano’s wife on the phone posing as the lover. But the woman doesn’t seem to care about his husband’s businesses outside the house and Eliseo is defeated once again.
3. A Tourist in Buenos Aires

Since the Galurdián couple is away on a trip, Eliseo takes the opportunity to illegally rent their apartment to Juliette, a Swiss tourist. But when the Galurdiáns inform him that they are going to arrive before expected and ask Eliseo to turn on the heat to warm the place, Eliseo has no choice but to relocate the tourist to a different apartment. Not a simple task, as he finds Juliette completely passed out, intoxicated, and next to her is the male escort she hired, who is not willing to leave without his money. After a tense moment, Eliseo and the escort come to an agreement and move the tourist to an apartment under construction. When he returns, without suspecting anything, Galurdián expresses his gratitude to Eliseo for his help and offers his support against the pool project. The next day, Messina, the building administrator, and Zambrano tell Eliseo about the project. They acknowledge that if approved it would mean his dismissal, but that the initiative will be brought up for a vote.
2. A Sympathetic Move

Still in shock over the owners’ association plans, Eliseo is determined to find more information to somehow win the owners over. After arm-twisting Amalia, Florencia and Marina’s cleaning lady, Eliseo finds out that Florencia is considering cheating on Marina with another woman. At the same time, he tries to earn the trust of María Pía, a neighbor that has always looked down on him. Eliseo deflates María Pía’s car tire so that she must ask him for help and, thus, get to know her better. Upon finding out about her pious and charitable nature, Eliseo starts a collection in the building to gather donations for her parish. After selling part of the donations at a pawn shop, he hands over the rest to María Pía, who, taken aback by his generosity, tells him to count on her for whatever he needs. Meanwhile, Florencia approaches Eliseo to ask him to keep quiet about having seen her with another woman. Eliseo pretends he doesn’t know what she is talking about but lets it slide that he won’t say anything so long as she votes against the pool project.
1. A Dangerous Project

Eliseo works as superintendent at a high-income building and every time the owners are gone, he sneaks in to enjoy their apartments’ amenities. When he overhears a conversation between Zambrano, a lawyer and president of the homeowners’ association, and Florencia, the architect from apt 2B, he gets alarmed. He can’t really make out what they are saying, but he understands they are talking about him. After pointlessly trying to decipher the conversation through his old friend Beba, Eliseo uses the excuse of a repair at the architect’s place to gain access to her computer. That’s how he discovers an e-mail from Zambrano about the pool project, but before he finishes reading it, he must abort the operation to avoid being caught red-handed by Marina, Florencia’s partner. Eliseo then decides to install a listening device in the community room to spy on the next owners’ meeting. Just like that, he discovers that the neighbors are planning on building a pool on the terrace, tearing his house down, and replacing his services for those of a cleaning company.
