It is Spring, 1981. Since his return to Paris, Jacques drowns his sorrows and parties excessively with his friend Diane de Beauvau-Craon, a junky aristocrat with an explosive temper. Meanwhile, Karl is starting to feel old, intimidated by the meteoric rise of a new wave of designers: the gang of Thierry Mugler and Jean-Paul Gaultier, the epitome of youth in the 1980s. Karl has to take it up a notch if he wants to stay relevant. Herein lies the dilemma: Should he put his career aside to be there for Jacques, or continue his quest for power and risk losing him forever?

It is Spring, 1978. Four years after forcing Bergé to bury the hatchet, Karl is now a major designer, alongside Yves. When Paloma Picasso, daughter of the famous painter, asks them each to create a dress for her wedding, Karl seizes the opportunity. It’s the perfect occasion to show his old rivals what he has become: a powerful designer and a contented man. But in order to complete the picture, he needs Jacques by his side. Away in Italy, Jacques refuses to return to the nest of vipers that is Paris. So Karl offers him the chance to show the world that he is more than a pretty face, giving him free rein over the new Fendi ad campaign. Jacques doesn’t realize this is more of a curse than a blessing.

Believing him to be an accomplice, Pierre Bergé – Saint Laurent’s all-powerful associate – targets Karl for revenge. It’s all-out war, without limitations.
