Stevie decides they should go on an anniversary trek to the Diamond Waterfall.

As the Pine Hollow students excitedly prepare for their trip to the Willow Creek Gymkhana, Max arrives with bad news: The nearby bridge has been washed away in a flash flood and theyll be stuck on the property for the next 24 hours. Everyone is excited by the idea of a sleepover except Veronica. It isnt long before Veronica delegates her leadership responsibilities and Desi finds herself supervising the boys on dinner duty.

When Jack fails to impress Vince Bernouli and gain entry to his prestigious equine training school, he decides to give up being a horseman and resigns from Pine Hollow. Not wanting Jack to go, Stevie, Simon and Desi convince Max to offer him an office job in the hope that they can somehow reignite Jacks love of horses. Jacks first day in the office is a disaster Finding Jack miserable in the office, the Saddle Club fess up and tell him they all helped organize his office stint.

After helping Stevie, Lisa and Carole out in the arena, the Saddle Club agree for Simon to join them on a ride, much to the disappointment of Melanie who is also keen to join the group. Before they head out on their hack, Lisa is horrified to discover Melanie has left an embarrassing home video of her asleep, snoring and clutching a teddy bear in the lounge for all to see.

When Veronica finds out guest student, Samantha Askew is linked to the Royal Family she sets about improving everything at Pine Hollow and putting a stop to the annual fun day. Offering up Garnet for Samantha to ride, Veronica is disgruntled when Samantha chooses to take Willow out with the Saddle Club instead. Despite her upper class heritage Samantha takes a shine to Stevie and develops a taste for rough riding.

Veronica feels humiliated when she fails to clear the double oxer during a riding lesson and immediately blames Garnet and stable hand Jack. But when Lisa corrects her, saying Garnet just needs better treatment, Veronica dismisses the claim and vows to make Garnet an obedient horse at any cost. While Veronica is out modelling, Lisa takes Garnet out for a hack and sees that with the proper encouragement, Garnet is a good horse and a fine jumper. Veronica appears with a harsh new bridle.

Carole shows signs of a cold, Lisa is quick to launch into mother mode and tries to get her better. But when Stevie and Lisa realize Carole is only sick when she is around Starlight and suggest she could be allergic to horses, Carole is defensive and dismisses the idea. Caroles condition doesnt improve and she realizes she may have an allergy to horses, but swears the Saddle Club to secrecy, terrified Mrs. Reg will stop her from riding.

Stevie finds an old championship medallion near the remains of a unused mine shaft. The Saddle Club are curious and ask Max about the medallion, and are told it came from the Sweetwater Pony Club. Jack and Max also tell the Saddle Club about the legend of the ghostly grey mare up on Old Sweetwaters Haunted Hill. Mrs. Reg explains who the owner of the medallion is, Rosemary Cross and gives Stevie access to the pony club archives for more research on the medal and its owner.

A strict riding judge, Louise Lomax arrives to decide the top rider at Pine Hollow, but Stevie, Phil and Murray arent taking the proceedings seriously and muck up in the arena. Furious at their disruptive behavior Veronica gets the boys banned from competing. After Phil and Murray heckle Veronica from the stands, Louise bans the boys from even watching the competition. During the competition Veronica falls from her horse and it is soon discovered someone cut her stirrup leather.

Determined to help save Midnight, Simon likes the idea of buying, but is disheartened to hear that Desis father wants five hundred dollars for the horse. Simon offers to do odd jobs around Pine Hollow to raise the money. His first job as the tech guy turns into a disaster and is left without pay. After investigating Midnights past, Lisa comes to Simon with some disturbing news, she thinks Midnight was mistreated by his old stable.

Stevie easily wins the race much to the surprise of the boys, who then ask her to compete with them in the Willow Creek time trial.
