A Gift for the Village
The film tells the story of the long connection between a Blacksburg, Virginia, artist named Jane Lillian Vance, and a prominent Buddhist lama named Amchi Tsampa Ngawang Lama. In June of 2007 a team carried a giant, detailed painting, called a thangka, to his village in the Himalayas. which held a festival to celebrate its arrival.
